Prospect 2020. A late season pressing from our museum orchard of over 300 varieties of apple grown at 1150 feet in the Cambrian Mountains.
Only available to cider club members - included in our Spring 2026 cider club box.
We released this cider in 2021, but we have kept some cases back in our cellar as we knew that it had the structure to age beautifully. 2020 was a fantastic year for ciders (although a challenging one for the makers and drinkers!) We are very pleased with how this is tasting now!
Is was interesting going back to the Cider Review article by Adam Wells looking at a series of Prospect verticals (this one was in the middle of the year range). The 2016 to 2019 are all gone now (let us know if you still have some and how it’s tasting), and we think that the 2020 is at it’s best.
Here’s Adam’s take on Prospect 2020 (written 29th September, 2023)
‘In a nutshell’ Very 2020 in its structure and flavour intensity. Might end up the best of the lot, but wants rich, robust food if you’re going to open it now. My tip’s to give it a few years.

As our orchard has matured, we split the Prospect pressings into an early season ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’ and a late season ‘Stargazing Cider’. This 2020 Prospect Orchard blend has continued on as ‘Stargazing Cider’ and we have the 2021, 2022, 2023 (a few cases of each reserved for future cider club boxes) and 2024 available now on our webshop.
From 2025 we have also done some micro-blends to showcase different varieties from our orchard. We’ve got a few maturing now, and should have them ready for release in 2027.
